Social/Cultural
Since we leave our country the social and cultural impact is very clear. I decided to come to Indonesia and it is the other side of the world for me. It is not the same read about a certain culture that live inside it. The social and cultural learning in this internship have been enriched and reciprocal. The foods, the roads, the clothing, the way of live are very different for me. The purpose of AIESEC internships is the cultural learning, and development as global leaders, I understand that I really found all of this here. We can get a personal and intellectual grow also. It is not only an exchange with Indonesian people; it is also with other interns of different countries. We never can get all together in the same place, but this opportunity help us to expand our ideologies and learn, in my experience, about Brazilian, Portugal, China and German way of lives.

Religion
Truly, Indonesian country is characterized for their particular religions and way of life. The predominant religions are Hinduism and Muslims. For me have been very interesting know more about their ideologies and traditions, because in my country only a few people practice them. For me, their religion determines their daily routine, their food, education and political status. I lived with a Muslims family and I learned a lot of things about them. The family is the center of the society, is the first society group and in this group they educate their children about Islam principles and transmit it generation by generation.

Education
My experience working in Malang schools have been very important, because I had the opportunity to see different educational levels. In Kauman School we follow a formal curriculum, because as an international school they promote the English like their second language, they use the technology and creativity to have a better academic advantage. Also, with AIESEC interns they offer a global vision to their students.
At the other part, Aksara School, it’s a poor school in which the teachers don’t have the same skills to offer, but the love and enthusiasm to help the children to have goals in their lives. Although we didn’t follow a formal curriculum, the experience for me was beautifully and I felt very good to help others. I am sure that Portuguese, Spanish, German and English language classes from our interns was enriched for them. It was a short time to share, but the cultural exchange and the global vision that they had can help them in a future to choose what they want for their lives and how they can contribute to their society.

Conclusion
I really want to say thanks to AIESEC Organization for the opportunity. In confused and problematic moments I had people that helped me and I never was alone. Thanks to you all for to do my stay in Indonesia more comfortable. I am very glad to be there and share with their people. Also, thanks to Kauman and Aksara School for let us the opportunity to teach in their institutions and share reciprocal learning and a beautiful moments with Malang children.

The story of internship that told by Zhao Tiantian(Sarah), China:)

Join in Go green project, she teach in SMPN 19

(1) Daily teaching of environmental issues and promote awareness of environmental protection. Also, assist teachers in SMP 19 with English conversation class teaching;

(2) Gardening project in SMP 19, namely plant flowers and grass in the garden of SMP 19 with some students and practice GoGreen with our hands;

(3) Rubbish collecting and composting project, namely collect rubbish on campus of SMP 19 and classified them into different categories and then compost in order to produce fertilizer for the school garden;

(4) Fountain project, in which we should carve our names on the fountain built at the entrance of SMP 19 in order to thank our effort in the project;

(5) Create English corner to encourage students of SMP 19 to speak out and try to use English as a communication tool in daily life.

(6) Also, because of cooperation relations we make the plan to work three days in SMP 19 and two days in the International Education Kindergarten owned by the partner of SMP 19’s headmaster Mr.Alvive.

Last but not least, with my sincere gratitude for AIESEC LC UB for matching me to Malang and obtained this splendid, unique and unforgettable exchange experience. Best wishes for a brighter future of UB and warmly welcome EPs from LC UB to Beijing, China.

Hey AIESEC !!,, This term AIESEC LC UB is held PBoX TOURISM 2010 “ Malang Is Ours”. We focused on developing museum in Malang especially, Brawijaya Museum. We choose this theme because we want to align with Visit Indonesia 2010 and we want to invite the society for more caring with the museum. Because the Big nation is mean the nation that proud and keep their history.

This team are consist by Majid Abdillah (accounting’07) as an OCP, Faradeby Septiwi Ajeng (accounting ’08) as an OCVP of programmer, Azizah Nadila (accounting’07) as an OCVP Publication and Decoration, Suta Wijaya (France’08) as an OCVP of exchange, and the last is Bismo Try Raharjo (Economic Development “08) as an OCVP Documentation and Logistic. The opening conference at Saturday, May 1st 2010, at PPAK building and opened by Bu Kun (BOA of AIESEC LC UB).

LCC Part III (full edition)

LOCAL COMMITTEE CONFERENCE SATURDAY-SUNDAY MARCH 27th-28th 2010
VILLA SEULAWAH BATU, EAST JAVA

Finally, we was held LCC part 3 it purpose to celebrate welcoming newee; Introduce each other to create sense of Belonging to AIESEC, giving clear understanding about organizational; Newee, Manager and Member got about AIESEC knowledge deeper; Encourage member go X and X+L; and create the next future leader of AIESEC LC UB. In this LCC we had 2 tracks, one tracks for newee and one tracks again for member. In day one we held opening plenary at 12.OO PM and for newee in that day have session about AIESEC history, AIESEC way, AIESEC current reality, AIESEC 2010 and Organizational Goals, product leadership by LCP current Riski Febrianto, after break newee have a session structure in AIESEC and synergy, Exchange in AIESEC also Exchange + Leadership + X+L campaign. In the other side member have a session about AIESEC way refreshment, synergy, AIESEC structure and job description, and why exchange.
After we have all the session in 12.00 am we had a party for celebrating and have fun with our newee also getting now each other. We have a roll dance, playing some games and after that we went to sleep around 3am.
Day 2 
We have a breakfast as usually, after that, opening plenary and we have a special session from our BoA bpk. Djanalis Djanaid about leadership and we really enjoy it because he had a great story about how to be a good leadership and can implement it well. After we had a special session we continue about communication skill, all the member and newee gathered in one plenary.
Overall, this LCC is one of a great LCC because we have MCVP AIESEC INDONESIA 09/10 as a chair, and we really enjoyed all this session till the closing conference held. Before closing we shared about our expectation for newee and about LCC, for member they share about our experience and about their dream in AIESEC.

Really nice to see you again on the other story of AIESEC LC Brawijaya University.

Now, our story is about our Family Gathering for all of new member AIESEC Local Committee Brawijaya University was held in April 17, 2010 at PPI hall Brawijaya University, Malang.

Our theme is “Our Values are Our Happiness”, why? Because all of the activities that we can do in AIESEC are to complete our self with six values in AIESEC, there are Striving for excellent, Enjoying Participation, Living Diversity, Activating Leadership, Demonstrating integrity, and Acting Sustainably, we always facing it with happiness.

We not just have special theme, but also special guest star, they are Mr. Djanalis Djanaid as our Board of Advisor, Mr. Bambang Siswanto as a representation of parent (peb’s parent), Guindra Pramudi Nugraha, and Amelia Safitri as representation of alumni AIESEC LC UB. Really proud, when our gathering have moderator from Duta Pariwisata Kota Malang 2008, Hardi Oktasawira (LCVP OGX AIESEC LC UB 0708) and master of ceremony Duta Pariwisata Kota Malang 2009 Olga

First session, we have AIESEC introducing that conduct by Risky Febrianto and Nissa Rahmawati as LCP current and elect. After 60 minutes, we have talk show about our theme who conducts by Okta as a moderator.

So interesting session because in this session all of parents who came in that gathering, get much of information about AIESEC in reality and fact evidences.

When question and answer session, some of them really active to know more about their child doing in AIESEC.

Really great moment for us as OC, when know that this gathering impact full for AIESEC LC UB progression, because our parents still decision maker for our carrier in AIESEC.

So hope from this gathering, they can support us as AIESEC member.

AIDSPARE Show time !! In AIDSPARE On Street we try to tell everyone about HIV/AIDS. We choose Pasar Minggu because there will be so many people, such as youth, elder, and children. The simple thing that we did last Sunday is give them AIDSPARE flier that contain of HIV/AIDS information also tell them how high is HIV/AIDS rate in Malang and East Java nowadays. By doing this, we hope that they can understand about HIV/AIDS, at least, basically. And implement it in their environment.

Being an Educate Person in HIV/AIDS is GREAT !!

Re-evaluate! How good is my work so far? Yap, AIDSPARE 2^nd bonding session was held in Gubuk Bakar-Bakar. On Saturday, April 10^th, 2010, AIDSPARE TEAM tries to tell all the feeling that they felt so far, since February, when the AIDSPARE TEAM was formed. We are opened about everything, what we proud of, feel disappointed, bored, tired, and get on fire at last. This bonding session makes us know, have we fulfill our job well? Wow, this is the day minus one to nef2010 national seminar that will be held at PPI Building FIB UB, tomorrow!

Starts from 8.00 AM until done with more than 150 participants and 4 amazing national speakers.

This most wanted entrepreneurship event will consists of seminar, exhibition and business plan competition to fulfill the needs of nowaday entrepreneurs. The biggest event from PBoX NEF SME 2010.

All the OC looks very excited to do all the tasks more effective & efficient. The adrenaline running through our blood, bring out the best of us and boost our mood immediately. The support comes all the way from the other PBoXers and the other department in AIESEC LC UB. It also comes from our friends, family, and other organization in University of Brawijaya.

And of course, all the OC supports each other to keep their high productivity to achieve the goal.

Yeah!

We believe we can make it!

Sometimes thing seems impossible until it is done, and we’ll prove that nef2010 will be done, IMPRESSIVELY! As the biggest event from PBoX NEF SME 2010, we are ultimately work smart to achieve it. After work for months in this project, we finally heading to the most waited event from PBoX NEF SME 2010. ^^

AGAIN!! AIDSPARE TEAM wants to educate people in many ways. One of our activities is AIDSPARE On Street. What is that? That is the activities which is given people information about HIV/AIDS. We spread the information by fliers. We will spread the flier in Pasar Minggu at April 11th, 2010. The 1^st edition is telling about the basic information about HIV/AIDS. By doing this, we hope that people know more about HIV/AIDS from the basic, and can spread and implement it in their environment.

One of activity in our LC UB now is Local Committee Conference will be held at 27th-28th march 2010, seulawah resort and café Batu East Java. Delegates for LCC are for member, who take Leadership role, and it have faci’s from our EB and our chair from mcvp finance AIESEC Indonesia, Andra. This LCC is different because it will be prepared from current manager and it located at the most luxurious venue ever for LCC.

Youth Entrepreneurship Seminar

This seminar was held on 13th of February 2010 and was intended for high school students in order to motivate these young people to explore and develop their entrepreneurial spirit. It was supported by three speakers and seven interns. It also succeeded in attracting 135 high school students from all around Malang.
There were 3 sessions, the first session was conducted by Ridwan Abadi, young & powerful motivator from ISI Way and the topic was about how to become both young & rich student by realizing your business plan. The second session was conducted by interns from China, USA, Austria, and Taiwan. In this session, the interns were facilitating students to make business plan for the competition. The last session was conducted by our AIESEC member : Primi Puspita and Winda Ayu. Both are young and successful entrepreneurs from AIESEC LC UB. At the end of the seminar, the interns announced two best groups of the business plan competition, each groups received gift from the organizing committees.

Roadshow

Roadshow is another event from LC UB’s PBoX SME, in which 3 high schools from Malang were involved, they were Brawijaya Smart School, MAN 3 Malang, SMAN 4 Malang. There were six meetings for each school. In this event each interns had responsibilities in teaching and developing students from each school. The interns taught and gave the students information relating to entrepreneurship, such as business idea, budgeting, customers’ satisfaction, etc. At the last meeting, one of our sponsor, Larissa Aesthetic Center opened a booth for the students. This roadshow aimed to select the best three groups from each school to compete in the next upcoming event of PBoX SME, National Entrepreneurship Forum 2010 (NEF 2010). NEF 2010 will be held on 11th April 2010 at the PPI Building FIB University of Brawijaya.

It’s AIDSPARE 2^nd Learning activities. It was held in A3 building, Economic Faculty, Brawijaya University. Lots of knowledge and fun that we’ve got in this activities. At March 20^th, this activities, the AIDSPARE Organizing Committee was helped by Mbak Hamidah from Tirai Remaja (Ngo) to learn more about the basic of HIV/AIDS, Mas Ulum from Sadar Hati (Ngo) to learn about Injection Drug Users (IDU) and how it related with HIV/AIDS, Mas Fajar from Batu Tourism to explain about the relation between tourism thing with spreading HIV/AIDS, and the last but not least, Doctor Amel from Larissa aesthetic center, to explain how facial activities can be related with spreading HIV/AIDS.

AIDSPARE Bonding Session and Learning Activities Part 1

AIDSPARE PBoX (Project Based on Exchange) will run around five months, and there will some problems in the team or when running the project. So, we do bonding session, the session to make the organizing committee get closer. This bonding session was held at March 14^th , 2010 in Ryan’s house (staff of Exchange controller). We tell about our self, such as our hobby, personality, characteristic, weakness, strengthen, etc. we told our feeling if we do not convenient with someone, so they can change their badness to the better one gradually. We make it fun by doing some games.

Second activities are learning activities about project management. We learnt about problem definition, SWOT analysis, Successor criteria, etc. by learning project management, we know our project position, and we can take better action to succeed AIDSPARE PBoX.

First, we have farewell party at Ria Djenaka Cafe on Jl. Bandung.
there was many Aiesecers because we had many interns who left 2 weeks ago.

and the second, it was held on Burger Buto... and there are 4 interns who left malang.
they are Peter, Ora, Betty and Joyce... and the last one was held on MOG for Amy and Karen, both of them are from China...

HEY AIESEC..!!!!

On 21^st-25^th January 2010, AIESEC National held National Election Conference in Padang.

The Objective of this Conference is to choose the next Member Committee President of AIESEC Indonesia for 2010-2011 period.

And unfortunately just 5 delegates who consist from EB UB that can attend these conference.

They are Riski Febriano as LCP, Festian Handardi S as VP Comm, Nila Fitri W as VP Finance, Kartika Putri K as VP ICX and Nissa Rahmawati as VP TM.

First Day We have amazing session that is Analyzed SOLA of each LC. And Finally We Proud we are in 2^nd rank of LC in Indonesia.

Then next Day We have a great Day namely Election Process for MCP Candidate,

And the one and only candidate is Widy Dinarti, current position as LCP Surabaya

But, she didn’t get confidence vote from the delegates. So, MC opened for the 2^nd round of MCP Position…

But… So Proud of You Widy as MCP Candidate…

Then, continued for MCVP Selection.

There are 7 seven candidate for MCVP Position, and all of them got confidence vote from delegates.

In the Last Day of the conference We can saw that actually all of the delegates didn’t want to leave the plenary and finished the conference. Because honestly this conference gives us many inspiration to do the best and be the best….

The Objective of this conference are to review AIESEC LC UB Performance in Q2.., Flasback back about our past achievement in 7 months, and try to make god and plan strategy for next 5 months….

As usual in the beginning of AIESEC Session we always opened it withhhh Roll Dance and Roll Call

So every delegates that consist of all active member doing rolldances..

Then We start our cool session with AIESEC Way..

And all of delegates enthusiasm to get new knowledge about AIESEC Way,,

Then we continued in some of session and we finished it at 18pm.

Then in the next day

We start our 2^nd day LCC, its more focus in Functional Session and all members understand and they able to give some solution and making new strategy to achieve AIESEC LC UB Goals…

With the theme "make an impact, today", 7 participants from the LC Brawijaya left to attend this event. Starting from the date of 12 December until 16 December 2009. The event is filled with a variety of sessions so inspiring. Where there are many quality speakers that provide quality event more interesting.
Place of event took place in two places Managemnt University of Singapore and Goldkist Beach Resort. With more than 200 attended by participants from 20 countries, including Indonesia.

Report for ICX meeting last month:
- Meeting held every Friday at 09.45 until 11.30
- What we were discuss that time: SME project, Children adhoc, English development adhoc, Go green adhoc, and preparation of HIV project
- The result:
SME project will have 24 interns, 4 from MC, 7 in first term, and the last is for second term.
          frist term interns consist of 1 belgian, 2 indian, 2 kazakhs, 1 mauritius, and 1 new zealand,
          Second period interns still on the process, but there are some interns already fixed: 4 chinese, 1 taiwanese, 1 Austria
Children adhoc have 5 interns, 4 already came at November (1 Poland and 3 new zealand) and anther will come at mid of dec
          We have partnership with Kauman elementary school, Muhammadiyah Orphanage, English course at CLE, and disable kids foundation at CLE too
Go green adhoc will have additional interns from Korea name alexis in the middle of Dec and the partnership will be remain with Tuinas Hijau, but also with IAAS
English development project will have interns come for Dec named xuan li and the partnership with Economic faculty in brawijaya university still doubtful, so we still searching for sollution with Unmer (Mrs Kun)
HIV team still not created yet because the focus of Pbox coord still on SME team

ICX team already have a few bodning:

at Matos
but there always one or two managers who can't come, so we still dont have complete bonding
but we already share our expectation and our introduce ourselves deeply (psychologically) each other.

December is a joyfull month right?
we have moslem holiday,christmas, and of course new year's celebration
This month, AIESEC Indonesia held a NLDS Jakarta at taman mini indonesia indah (TMII) from dec 5th until december 9th
and also we have NLDS Singapore!!
We are really proud of you guys, who have joined the NLDS.Especially to Malika Ramadhani who elected as LCUB delegates for MCVP

TM have 3 core activities in this december. There are gathering,training,and the last is mentoring
Lets begin from the gathering
as you know..we have some informal gathering such as futsal, karaoke time, and we have community gathering who held by ER department
formal and informal gathering are very important to build our sense of belonging to AIESEC UB.
we will know each other,getting closer, and have good relationship with our partner in project or department
hope next time all of you can join our gathering guys.
the second is training
at december 18th we held communication training located at last stop caffe (near persada swalayan).
it was very interesting to find out how to make design for media tools and also create our movie!!
there so many talented discover there. They have good design and taste but not develop yet
so guys.. its a new learning and knowledge for you
keep explore your potential skill and maybe you can beat communication's team design^^

Now, we goes to Mentorship session
We know that mentorship is one of the activity which have difficult and complex systems. why? because we must makes a match
"someone" (mentor) and "someone" (mentee) who has different characters and personal. But, AIESECers still need mentorship.

Mentoring is a partnership between two people built upon trust, offers ongoing support and development opportunities,
guidance, counseling and support in the form of pragmatic and objective assistance, and also helps mentees
and mentors progress in their personal and professional growth.

OUR SYSTEM

Talent Management 0910 have two system for mentoring implementation, and its so different.

First, FORMAL MENTORSHIP IMPLEMENTATION, this system are running by new member who have same stage, same experiences,
and same knowledge in AIESEC. So, we enacting one guideline, one rule, and one way to work.
Altought, we know that mentoring is about "someone" who have different personal and character, so we still keep flexibility
in that process.
Second, INFORMAL MENTORING IMPLEMENTATION, this system running by member who have different stage, different experiences,
and different needs analysis. So, they can implement this mentoring more flexible, but still have to control.

For this implementation, we have MENTOR AND MENTEE MATCHING TOOLS, it can help us to past on fitting process.
So, we can maximize good match between mentor and mentee, and also can minimize unfitted between mentor and mentee
in their mentoring process.

in TARGET GROUP DEFINITION, we suggest maximum 2 mentee per each mentor, to make easily process, and easy of controlling.
And, every end of month mentor must fill the PERFORMANCE REPORT,it function as a controlling to keep handling
this implementation.

Until now, I'm really be greatful because this mentorship can running well. Start from looking for mentor,filled matching
tools,fitting process,and in last november 2009 we start first session, and we still have minimum six session again.
and, so far, mentors can do it well, and mentee really enjoy with them.

Hope that our system can running well in next month and so on, and can support to get excellent AIESEC LC UB member

ER DEPARTMENT BONDING 3^RD EDITION

TIME: SUNDAY, 22 NOVEMBER 2009

PLACE: DO RE MI KARAOKE, CAK PI’I RESTO

This bonding is held in order to have mind refreshment and also to get closer in ER team, including new members that allocated as our staff. We meet at Campus as the meeting point. Actually we invite all ER Team, unfortunately some of them couldn’t come. Mesayu and Rully is visited by their parents, and Rani was sick, so the new members only Fattah.

After some discussion, we decide to go to DOREMI by Weni’s car. Four of us (Fani, Weni, Noy & Fattah) going directly to the place, while Bejo still in Batu and will go there as soon as his business finished.

We booked the Karaoke Room for 2 hours, and have a great singing moment there. Even though Fattah just one hour there, but we enjoy it very much. After Fattah going home, then Bejo arrived. We continue singing for about one hour later, and of course we’re not forgetting about photo session. We ask for the employees there to take pictures for us.

After finished Karaoke, we then decide to have lunch. Another discussion happened to decide which place we’ll visit to have lunch. Finally, we decide to go to Cak Pi’I Resto to have lunch.

After ordering some food, we start to talk about many things; however the main point of our chit-chat is getting closer each other. Having finished our lunch, we decide to go home because it starts raining. Weni takes us back to the campus and after saying goodbye to each other we finished the 3^rd bonding session of ER Department.

IM FUN DAY (part 1)

Yesterday, on 18 December 2009, at the last wifi café, AIESEC LC UB was held IM FUN DAY. In this activity discuss the introduction of of myaiesec.net for new member, Corel draw and Swishmax training.

In myaiesec.net session hosted by the Vice President of communication is Festian Handardi dicuss about: first, how to make application for entry into the system. Second, describe the features on it. Third, increase the role of member of the TR I2A.

For the next session is Corel draw, hosted by the virtual manager of communication that is Dandi Ramadhan. In this session, manager and newee taught how to use Corel draw to create a poster design for a project or event. Things to note is the placement AIESEC Logo branding, color selection, and the purpose of the event and more information (contact person).
At the end of the session, Danny held a competition to newee or manager, to create a promotional tool in the form of posters or fliers.

The theme of OGX and exchange.
The deadline for gathering design is January 4th, 2010.

There are very cool prizes for the 3 winners!

Last but not least is the use of Swishmax software, which conducted by relationship manager is Abdul Rifani. In this session, he teaches how to create animated images and shapes to make a presentation or video. Member quickly understand how to use this software.

English Development is an Ad Hock. The goals are improve the English for student of university. They discuss about the hot economic issue. But also, we can share all the things that we have. There was a good time, a beautiful day and great moment in Batu at December 5^th. Suta, Ario, Adam, Dila and Rizky (Host Family of Jean) with 4 interns: Jean, Robin, May and Kay. We went to BNS,, cool… there so fun. We played all the games almost. There was a little problem before we went to BNS, it was rained. We waited a hour and after that we go there.. Well, there is a lot of fun and new experience for adam, risky, sutha and also the interns. Because that is the first time to go to BNS. There was a welcoming party at November 26^th in Anastasya’s house. So, the party started at 5 o’clock evening till 7 o’clock. There was a problem. It was rained. Hiks . But we must start it well. Anastasya is member of Aiesec. Well, we have been held welcoming party for two our interns. There are from Belgium and Poland. The man is Jean and the girl is Kasya. Jean included in PboX SME and Kasya take a Children Ad Hock. Cool, there was many of food, thanks for Anas’s Mom who, has prepared it well. Thank you so much.

Then, after the welcoming party, we held farewell party for Rianne, she is from Holand. She was took a Go Green Ad Hock during 6 weeks. She is very kind and also beautiful. We never forget it. Thanks for Rianne who, was took project in Indonesia especially in Malang. We hope we will meet in other times .
